Hello
Who we are http://www.enviro-nc.com/
So a lot of products? Choose from the pile.
To the public it seems there are only a few things to know.
I find that in the business of HVAC there seems to be a wide open range most knowing so little about what heats their homes or businesses. This is a forum to learn share, ask and bring about some good questions. Standardize some of the common mistake.
My Partner and I Own Environmental Heating and Air of NC inc. We are based in the Raleigh Durham area. I will post some interesting things and photos we have come across. Examples and reference material.
The rules that are general across the board in many professions.

- Hire someone who is appropriately licensed. This is huge, people have the over whelming idea that get someone off the back of their truck and they will save so much money it will be smart. WRONG. Hire a doctor, chiropractor, lawyer, electrician , real estate brokers, teacher,CPA,architects, veterinarians, plumbers, heating and air conditioning, that's not licensed , I can go on. My point is there is a reason for regulation. People with licenses have worked hard to get them. It is one important filter.
- Do they posses the area of expertise that you need to hire them for. Certain units we will tell people we are just not familiar enough with and do not take on this work. You need to know they have experience at this type of unit. Ask for some type reference.
- Do they have other certifications or continuing education.
- Make sure the job is permitted and inspected. It is so simple its for your protection.Codes only improve to save lives.
- If you don't have a carbon monoxide tester that is operating at this very moment go to the store now and get one. If you don't have smoke detector stop reading and see if you can count to 10.
- Get estimates 3 is a good number to get a feel for things maybe 5 is best though. You know that you have a qualified decision.
- Check the company out with the BBB. Go online call the governing body.
- Try to be ahead of being desperate, face the reality and start to make a game plan. If its cold out you wear a jacket.
- Price does not = quality this swings both ways and you need to be balanced in your approach. The cheapest banged up van and 2 guys who look like they are not from the JPL you will more than likely be installed incorrectly. Incorrect does = dangerous or break down ahead. Have a huge big box outfit with 50 vans estimate. Well they more than likley are going to overcharge but call them. They do it by the book and you can get allot of info from them.
- Deposit Payment warranty. Ask what your labor warranty is. Can you get an extention? What are the parts warranty this goed to the machine. Deposit no more than 20% down unless it very special order.
I feel there is more and I will ad and stress things . Do you have a question? Ask us.

These are very accurate, to check to see if a contractor is licensed in NC..
